Soft-Skills Learning

We help people become more choice-ful and skilful in their many talents

Throughout education and business, we are actively taught many tangible or ‘hard’ skills. In contrast, we are rarely consciously taught the less tangible, relational skills (e.g. personal impact, influencing, listening).

These are mostly learned in childhood and developed through the journey of life.  The preferences embed from this early age constrain our pallet of options and over time become unconscious habits, some good, some bad.

At senior levels in business it is the ‘softer skills’ that make the difference between the Star and A.N. Other Executive.

Redwood Learning specialises in helping people and teams to develop in a number of these softer skills areas. We help people become more conscious of their behavioural patterns, where they are effective, ineffective, unhelpful or simply ‘getting in their own way’. We encourage them to step outside their comfort zone, explore and stretch themselves into different, more effective behaviours.

Some of the soft skill areas in which specialise include:

  • Developing personal power, authority, impact and influence
  • Building effective relationships with depth and pace
  • Improving interpersonal communication (including giving feedback and/ or ‘difficult messages’)
  • Coaching
  • Improving the quality of questioning, listening and empathy
  • Growing self awareness and emotional intelligence (EQ)
  • Dialogue and courageous conversations
